For those of you who are implicated about your privacy and don't want any other users who have passage to your computer to know what sites you've been visiting online, need to know how to wholly erase internet history. You see you do not fully clear your internet browsing history when you clear the incommunicable data, cookies, browsing history etc. Using your internet browsers lame privacy tools. In order to constantly delete the records of sites you have visited, pictures you have viewed, videos you have downloaded, or even emails you have sent online, you need to know How to delete Index.dat files. These files are incommunicable law files that keep a description of every single website and action you've performed online and if anything gains passage to them they can see exactly what you've been online. So by now I think you would've realized the importance of clearing index.dat files and since Microsoft doesn't provide any utilities to delete index.dat files.
What I said. It isn't outcome that the real about Online Schools In Mississippi. You see this article for information about an individual wish to know is Online Schools In Mississippi.
How is How to Delete Index.dat Files - thoroughly Erase Internet History
We had a good read. For the benefit of yourself. Be sure to read to the end. I want you to get good knowledge from Online Schools In Mississippi.
I'm going to show you how in this article.
Index.dat files are used by Microsoft to description facts about internet sites that have been visited and details of cookies being stored on your Pc. Whenever you visit a website on the net; the Url address, images viewed, time of visit, and other web page contents are all saved to your hard drive. There is no clear explanation as to why Microsoft needs these files but the original reason is that the contents can be opened up quicker from your hard drive if you re-visit the same page again. One example of its use is when you type in the first few letters of an address in the Url bar that you've already visited and the full address fast comes up, now this is great if you can't be bothered re-typing the address but it's a huge invasion of personal privacy if man else is using your computer.
Anyone with the slightest knowledge of fully searching internet history or has heard about the existence of index.dat files will be able to know exactly what you've been doing online. So if you are worried about your privacy then you must learn how to delete index.dat files immediately, before man else gets a hold of them.
Now I'm afraid erasing or clearing index.dat files is no easy task and it is virtually impossible to accurately delete all the files using by hand deletion methods. The reason being, index.dat files are principal law files and are constantly being used by internet explorer and Windows all the time so you cannot simply drag and drop them in the recycling bin. You may be able to take off them using Ms Dos if you are using Windows Me, Windows 98 or Windows 95 and then find and delete all the index.dat files one-one. Any way This is method is pretty complicated and vulnerable to errors as Windows usually shop more than one copy of index.dat and seeing them all when they are located in incommunicable directories can be difficult. If you are using Windows Vista, Windows Xp, Windows 2000 or Windows Nt this tactic won't work at all and you will need some help.
Because Microsoft hasn't in case, granted any utilities to indeed delete index.dat files and also inspecting the fact they are near impossible to erase using by hand methods, third party software designers have created programs specifically to erase index.dat files. usually known as index.dat viewers or index.dat erasers, these programs are indeed able to search all index.dat files and fast take off them, all at the click of a few buttons. Personally I use a schedule called Privacy Guardian 4.1 to wholly clear my internet browsing history; it is able to fully collect my privacy by ensuring all traces of my online Internet and computer action are constantly erased and unrecoverable.
So if you wondering how to wholly erase your internet history then you must know How to delete Index.dat files. They cannot be deleted indeed by by hand methods and I must recommend you grab a good Index.dat eraser if you wish to delete index.dat files and fully collect your internet privacy. The good news is that most programs offer a free download so you can take off these files today at no cost. I can warrant you will feel a lot great and be letting out a strong sigh of relief when you know you indeed deleted all your internet browsing history permanently.

Dubai is one of the seven states that make up the United Arab Emirates (UAE); it is located in the Middle East. The UAE borders the Gulf of Oman and the Persian Gulf and is situated between Oman and Saudi Arabia. The United Arab Emirates was formed in 1971 by the then 'Trucial States' after their independence from Britain.
The UAE is governed by a Supreme Council of Rulers, the council is made up of the seven emirs and they appoint the prime minister and the cabinet for the country. Despite being ultimately ruled by the Supreme Council, as with the other six states, Dubai maintains a large degree of autonomy from the UAE when it comes to general decision making for the city's development.
Oil was first discovered in the United Arab Emirates in the 1950s, before that the country's economy was built on fishing and pearling, since 1962, when Abu Dhabi became the first of the emirates to begin exporting the oil, the country's economy has been completely transformed.
Sheikh Zayed, who has been the president of the UAE since its inception, quickly understood the economic potential for the country from the oil industry. He has continued to ensure that each of the emirates benefits from the oil generated wealth, he has insisted on the reinvestment of oil revenues into the healthcare system, the education system and the general national infrastructure.
The development of the oil industry has led to a large influx of foreign workers to the UAE, in fact Dubai's population is the fastest growing in the world and the foreign population makes up about three quarters of the entire UAE population! As a direct result of this fact the UAE is one of the most liberal countries in the Gulf, with other cultures and beliefs tolerated. Dubai has also been quick to understand the need for diversification. Oil in the region is only projected to last for about 30 years and so Dubai has successfully embarked upon a major diversification program aimed to at developing industries and commercial enterprises to take the place of oil as the predominate commodity of the state's economy.
The climate in Dubai is sub-tropical and arid or desert like. The city enjoys almost year round sunny blue skies. Rain is infrequent and if it does fall, it falls in the winter.
Temperatures range from lows of 10°C to extreme summer highs of 48°C. The average maximum daily temperature in January is 24°C and the average maximum daily temperature in July is 41°C when humidity is very high.

Day to Day Life in Dubai
Accommodation
If you are considering moving to Dubai one of your first thoughts will no doubt be finding somewhere to live. This is not something you'll find too tricky, there are many companies advertising rental accommodation in the classified sections of local newspapers and they offer everything from private villas to luxury apartments or even shared accommodation. Whatever your budgetary and lifestyle requirements are, the specialist relocation and housing companies will be sure to have something to assist you. If you prefer to find your accommodation privately and avoid any agency costs, many people use supermarkets notice boards to advertise or request accommodation.
In terms of which areas of the city offer the type of accommodation you are after, Jumeirah, Umm Sequiem and the Safa Park area are upmarket and offer villa-type accommodation. Satwa and Garhoud also offer villas but are slightly cheaper. Rashidiya, Mirdif and Al Quoz are mainly Arabic areas and they actually attract a lot of expats.
If you are after an apartment the most popular areas are around Bur Dubai, the Sheikh Zayed Road with cheaper flats are available in Deira, Satwa and Karama. Some of the more exclusive apartment developments offer shared gym and pool facilities together with garaged car parking and the like.

When it comes to enrolling your child in the UAE there are a few restrictions you should be aware of. For example you are not allowed to change your child's school during the academic year...unless approval is given by the Ministry of Education and the circumstances are 'special'. This means that you have to make sure the school you choose for your child will definitely suit them. Another restriction you should be aware of is that is you move to Dubai on or after the 1st May each year you can't enrol your child into the schooling system for that year. Instead you'll have to enrol for the beginning of the new school year which is usually the beginning of September.

Another consideration you may have if thinking about relocation to Dubai may be the state of the health care system available there. It is fair to say that Dubai has many very well equipped hospitals and surgeries. Dubai's Department of Health and Medical Services runs Dubai, Rashid, Maktoum and Al Wasl hospitals, with Dubai Hospital one of the best medical centres in the entire Middle East. It is important to mention that some countries worldwide have tax laws enabling them to tax their nationals on their worldwide income. It is important to check your status with an international accountant before taking up employment in the city.
Lifestyle
Dubai has a thriving expat population who make the most of their tax free lifestyle in this amazing city of opportunity. The nightlife in the city is excellent, with cocktail bars, wine bars, themed bars and typical British or Irish pubs available, many of which offer food and entertainment as well.
High standard international cuisine is available in the city's many restaurants and if you are looking for lively evening entertainment there are numerous night clubs around the city. There are few people on earth today who have not heard something about Islam. Islam is one of the most prominent religions in the world today with at least 750 million people practicing. Islam is a voluntary relationship between an individual and his creator. Islam emerged in Arabia during the early 7th century. Islam means "submission" in Arabic, which is the basis for the religion---submitting to the Will of God. Islamic religion is formed on the foundations of Islamic life, variety and unity is Islam, and Islam and its nonbelievers. The Islamic people had a new faith in their religion and kept their hopes high to conquer and spread the religion. They changed the society that was used across the lands and brought a new religion that would keep the people high in assurance that they'll always have a good spirit.

How is Islam - Essay - Fundamentals and History
We had a good read. For the benefit of yourself. Be sure to read to the end. I want you to get good knowledge from Online Colleges Alabama.
The foundations of Islamic life are based on a sacred text called the Qu'ran. The Qu'ran is a record of the exact words revealed by God through the Angel Gabriel to the Prophet Muhammad. The Qu'ran is the prime source of every Muslims' faith and practice. It deals with all the subjects which concern us as human beings: wisdom, doctrine, worship, and law, but its basic theme is the relationship between God and his creatures. At the same time it provides guidelines for a just society, proper human conduct and an equitable economic system. From the time the Qu'ran was revealed, until this day there has always been a large number of Muslims who have memorized all of the Qu'ran, letter by letter. Not one letter of the Qu'ran has been changed over the centuries.
Another source for the basis of Islamic life is al-Hadith, or sunnah. This is a vast body of transmitted stories and sayings attributed to the Prophet and his comparisons. Unlike the Qu'ran, these stories are not assembled in a single, absolutely accepted text. There are actually many collections of Hadith. Over time, during the first few centuries of Islam, it became obvious that many so-called hadith were in fact spurious sayings that had been fabricated for various motives, at best to encourage believers to act righteously and at worse to corrupt believers' understanding of Islam and to lead them astray. Since Islamic legal scholars were utilizing hadith as an adjunct to the Qu'ran in their development of the Islamic legal system, it became critically important to have reliable collections of hadith. While the early collections of hadith often contained hadith that were of questionable origin, gradually collections of authenticated hadith called sahih were compiled. Such collections were made possible by the development of the science of hadith criticism, a science at the basis of which was a critical analysis of the chain of (oral) transmission (isnad) of the hadith going all the way back to Muhammad. The two most highly respected collections of hadith are the authenticated collections the Sahih Bukhari and Sahih Muslim. In addition to these, four other collections came to be well respected, although not to the degree of Bukhari and Muslim's sahih collections. These four other collections are the Sunan of Tirmidhi, Nasa'i, Ibn Majah, and Abu Da'ud. Together these four and the two sahih collections are called the "six books" (al-kutub al-sitta). Two other important collections, in particular, are the Muwatta of Ibn Malik, the founder of the Maliki School of law, and the Musnad of Ahmad ibn Hanbal, the founder of the Hanbali School of law.
The third source that provides an important basis for the faith is the biography of the Prophet of God---Muhammad. Muhammad ibnu Abdillah was born in Mecca in the year 569 CE. Orphaned at an early age, Muhammad was cared for by his uncle. He earned his living as a trader and a Shepard among the Bedouins, and was known by his people as al-amin (the trustworthy one). When he was 25, he married Khadija. When Muhammad reached the age of 40, the angel Gabriel came to him with revelations that established his prophethood. Muhammad was first ordered to instruct his immediate family on Islam, including his beloved wife Khadija, but eventually it was revealed to him that he should begin delivering the message to all of mankind. In the next 20 years of his life, he communicated the message of Allah to his people, and set an example for how each human being should lead her or his life. This is especially valuable since Muhammad is the last Prophet of Allah. In the year 632, the year of his death, the Prophet delivered his famous last sermon.

The system of teaching in elementary schools, and of course higher education, is one such area where the advent of computers, coupled with the growth of the World Wide Web, has brought about a complete metamorphosis in the way knowledge is being imparted even in elementary schools.
The conventional mode of teaching by way of imparting knowledge only through books and the written word is fast becoming outdated. The transformation is so forceful that not only do schools provide computer teaching but also put them up in classrooms to aid in the teaching process. Those of us, who see children learning with the aid of computers in a manner that is fun as well as educative, lament why these beautiful machines could not be made available to us.
To the traditional teacher or an older person, it might appear that books and the written word are the last word in teaching. The present day scene with computers even in elementary schools is difficult to imagine for those who have not actually seen and experienced the change that come about in the method of teaching.
The PC's and the Mac's have the capacity to offer information and knowledge to an extent which can not be matched by any other single source. The computer with Internet access is a fantastic teaching tool that the present generation is lucky to have.
Varying from school to school, knowledge is being imparted with the aid of PC's or Macs. Mac's may appear to be simpler to operate but they serve the same purpose as the PC's. It depends on the type of deal that the schools strike with the companies and the content that they require as part of the knowledge they intend to divulge to the students. The Internet is a storehouse of knowledge which can be accessed through a simple procedure, resulting, in most of the cases, a bypass to bulky books which in any case are no match for the content that the Web is able to provide through the aid of a computer.
To sum it all, the use of computers as a tool of imparting knowledge to students in elementary schools is a judicious tool in the hands of the teacher.

Washington's Birthday, which is widely known as "Presidents' Day", is the name of a United States federal holiday that is celebrated on the third Monday in February. The exact date of course varies, for example the holiday fell on February 19th in 2007, and falls on February 18th in 2008.

How is President's Day Bingo
We had a good read. For the benefit of yourself. Be sure to read to the end. I want you to get good knowledge from Online Colleges Alabama.
The holiday has been marked by the federal government since 1880, and was originally a celebration of George Washington's birthday (Washington was born on February 22nd). Over the years, the holiday has been also adopted as a state holiday by many US states, and theme of the holiday has also expanded to include other Presidents too, especially Abraham Lincoln, who was born on February 12th. In Alabama for example, the holiday is known as "Washington and Jefferson Day", and in Massachusetts, although the holiday is known as "Washington's Birthday", the governor issues an annual proclamation honoring the Presidents who came from the state (John Adams, John Quincy Adams, Calvin Coolidge, and John F. Kennedy).
Most schools are closed on Presidents' Day, and in has in fact become increasingly common for schools to close down for a whole week around the holiday as a "mid-Winter recess". Educators also often take the opportunity to use the period around the holiday to teach student's about the country's Presidents, especially Washington and Lincoln.
One educational and fun activity that teachers may wish to consider as part of their Presidents' Day activities is playing Presidents' Day Bingo. The idea is quite simple: you play bingo with your class, as a normal game (with the teacher as caller and the students playing the game), but using bingo cards containing the names of US Presidents (or words related to Washington or Lincoln if you prefer). Don't worry about the materials - you can print off cards like these very easily from your computer - either by downloading free Presidents' Day bingo printables off the Internet, or by using affordable and easy-to-use bingo card creation software.
One of the nice things about bingo is that you can tinker with the game play depending on how much of an educational message you want to build into the game, and the age of your students. For example, if you want a longer game, require students to mark all the squares on the cards, rather than just a line, before claiming a "Bingo". You can also have discussions about the various Presidents as their names are called out - one idea might be to assign each student a different President before class to study, and if that President's name comes up during the game, that student must stand up and briefly describe that President's career.

Candle clocks are one of the ways that ancient people attempted to use natural phenomenon to keep accurate record of the time during the day. They consist of a long thin candle, which is marked at even intervals. When the candle is lit it burns down at a relatively steady pace, and by keeping track of which mark the flame is at, you can get a rough estimate of how much time has passed since it was lit.

It is almost impossible to know when the first candle clock was used, as the practice of marking candles may have been in use throughout the world for centuries before it was ever recorded. Our first written reference to the use of a kind of candle clock comes from a poem written by Chinese thinker You Jiangu, around the year 520 AD. In the work, the candle clock is referenced as a way of telling what time it was during the night, when the sun could not be used. We also have evidence of these candles being used in Japan until about the 10th century AD.
The most famous candle clock was used by King Alfred the Great of England. This clock consisted of six candles, each crafted to be exactly twelve inches in height, and precisely uniform in width. These candles each had 12 marks, with each mark representing twenty minutes, and the entire candle set to burn away every four hours. At four hours each the 6 candles were able to maintain a steady reading of the time, for a full 24 hour period, without being replenished. The candles themselves were protected by wooden frames with glass paneling that allowed the time to be monitored.
In 1206 Al-Jazari fashioned what are considered the most complex and ingenuous candle clocks ever made. These clocks used weight and counterbalance, to move a series of automata which displayed a read out of the time. As the candle burned, it became lighter, and the counterweights would move, allowing the device to operate. These clocks were the first to use a bayonet fitting, which is a fastening mechanism which is still employed to this day.
While candle clocks were relatively accurate, it was still impossible to completely control the speed at which the flame would burn and the max would melt. The fact that the max would melt unevenly could also cause problems with the accuracy of these timepieces. They were generally abandoned in favor of mechanical clocks once they became widely available.

The Coca Cola history extends back to 1885, when John Pemberton invented the primary formula for a new cocawine. He named it Pemberton's French Wine Coca, which was believed to be inspired by Vin Mariani, a popular cocawine invented by Angelo Mariani. Pemberton advanced Coca-Cola, a non-alcoholic version of his primary cocawine, when Fulton County passed prohibition legislation. Carbonated water was added later by crisis when Pemberton was mixing drinks for a friend and incidentally included it. His friends loved the new taste, so he altered the primary formula to concentrate it.

Coca-Cola was said to cure many diseases, together with headaches, impotence, and the marvelous morphine addiction. Three versions of Coca-Cola were on the shop by 1888, sold by three separate companies. One company, Candler, purchased exclusive proprietary to the Coca-Cola formula from Woolfolk Walker, John Pemberton, and Margaret Dozier to cut out the competition.
This made the first big break in Coca Cola history. Candler incorporated The Coca-Cola company in 1982, and began marketing the product. The drink achieved the status of national icon for the Usa by its 50th anniversary. Bottles of Coca-Cola were sold starting in 1894, and cans in 1955. The first bottle was sold in Vicksburg, Mississippi. In 1899, Chattanooga, Tennessee became the first site of a Coca-Cola bottling company.
In Pemberton's primary formula, he added five ounces of coca leaf (cocaine) per gallon of syrup. Candler claimed that he altered the formula and only added a tenth of the amount. Coca Cola once contained an assessment of nine milligrams of cocaine per glass. It wasn't until 1903 that it was removed from the drink altogether, replacing it with coca flavoring.
"New Coke" came out in 1985 after Coca-Cola attempted to change the primary formula. Most consumers preferred the taste of the primary Coca-Cola, and many ceased purchasing the goods until the company switched back to the primary formula. It was renamed Coca Cola classic to show consumers that the drink had reverted back to its primary formula.
By the 21st century, Coca Cola history took someone else leap in the market. In 2005, the company launched "Diet Coke", sweetened with synthetic flavors. Later in 2005, it announced "Coca Cola Zero", sweetened with aspartame and acesulfame potassium. Since then, the company has produced other products containing the same Coca-Cola formula with minor differences.
Coca Cola is now being sold colse to the world, in more than 200 different countries. The Coca-Cola company now sponsors an assortment of events, together with the "Olympic Games", and "Nascar". In England, it is the primary sponsor of "The Football League". It is also featured in any television shows together with "The Gods Must Be Crazy."
Coca Cola history has come a long way since Pemberton invented the primary recipe, and continues to grow by leaps and bounds. It is no surprise that it is one of the foremost soft drinks of the market.

How is History of Educational Technology
We had a good read. For the benefit of yourself. Be sure to read to the end. I want you to get good knowledge from Online Colleges Alabama.
Educational technology, broadly speaking, has passed through five stages.
The first stage of educational technology is coupled with the use of aids like charts, maps, symbols, models, specimens and concrete materials. The term educational technology was used as synonyms to audio-visual aids.
The second stage of educational technology is associated with the 'electronic revolution' with the introduction and establishment of sophisticated hardware and software. Use of various audio-visual aids like projector, magic lanterns, tape-recorder, radio and television brought a revolutionary change in the educational scenario. Accordingly, educational technology concept was taken in terms of these sophisticated instruments and equipments for effective presentation of instructional materials.
The third stage of educational technology is linked with the development of mass media which in turn led to 'communication revolution' for instructional purposes. Computer-assisted Instruction (CAI) used for education since 1950s also became popular during this era.
The fourth stage of educational technology is discernible by the individualized process of instruction. The invention of programmed learning and programmed instruction provided a new dimension to educational technology. A system of self-learning based on self-instructional materials and teaching machines emerged.
The latest concept of educational technology is influenced by the concept of system engineering or system approach which focuses on language laboratories, teaching machines, programmed instruction, multimedia technologies and the use of the computer in instruction. According to it, educational technology is a systematic way of designing, carrying out and evaluating the total process of teaching and learning in terms of specific objectives based on research.
Educational technology during the Stone Age, the Bronze Age, and the Iron Age
Educational technology, despite the uncertainty of the origin of the term, can be traced back to the time of the three-age system periodization of human prehistory; namely the Stone Age, the Bronze Age, and the Iron Age.
Duringthe Stone Age, ignition of fire by rubbing stones, manufacture of various handmade weapon and utensils from stones and clothing practice were some of the simple technological developments of utmost importance. A fraction of Stone Age people developed ocean-worthy outrigger canoe ship technology to migrate from one place to another across the Ocean, by which they developed their first informal education of knowledge of the ocean currents, weather conditions, sailing practice, astronavigation, and star maps. During the later Stone Age period (Neolithic period),for agricultural practice, polished stone tools were made from a variety of hard rocks largely by digging underground tunnels, which can be considered as the first steps in mining technology. The polished axes were so effective that even after appearance of bronze and iron; people used it for clearing forest and the establishment of crop farming.
Although Stone Age cultures left no written records, but archaeological evidences proved their shift from nomadic life to agricultural settlement. Ancient tools conserved in different museums, cave paintings like Altamira Cave in Spain, and other prehistoric art, such as the Venus of Willendorf, Mother Goddess from Laussel, France etc. are some of the evidences in favour of their cultures.
Neolithic Revolution of Stone Age resulted into the appearance of Bronze Age with development of agriculture, animal domestication, and the adoption of permanent settlements. For these practices Bronze Age people further developed metal smelting, with copper and later bronze, an alloy of tin and copper, being the materials of their choice.
The Iron Age people replaced bronze and developed the knowledge of iron smelting technology to lower the cost of living since iron utensils were stronger and cheaper than bronze equivalents. In many Eurasian cultures, the Iron Age was the last period before the development of written scripts.
Educational technology during the period of Ancient civilizations
According to Paul Saettler, 2004, Educational technology can be traced back to the time when tribal priests systematized bodies of knowledge and ancient cultures invented pictographs or sign writing to record and transmit information. In every stage of human civilization, one can find an instructional technique or set of procedures intended to implement a particular culture which were also supported by number of investigations and evidences. The more advanced the culture, the more complex became the technology of instruction designed to reflect particular ways of individual and social behaviour intended to run an educated society. Over centuries, each significant shift in educational values, goals or objectives led to diverse technologies of instruction.
The greatest advances in technology and engineering came with the rise of the ancient civilizations. These advances stimulated and educated other societies in the world to adopt new ways of living and governance.
The Indus Valley Civilization was an early Bronze Age civilization which was located in the northwestern region of the Indian Subcontinent. The civilization was primarily flourished around the Indus River basin of the Indus and the Punjab region, extending upto the Ghaggar-Hakra River valley and the Ganges-Yamuna Doab, (most of the part is under today's Pakistan and the western states of modern-day India as well as some part of the civilization extending upto southeastern Afghanistan, and the easternmost part of Balochistan, Iran).
There is a long term controversy to be sure about the language that the Harappan people spoke. It is assumed that their writing was at least seems to be or a pictographic script. The script appears to have had about 400 basic signs, with lots of variations. People write their script with the direction generally from right to left. Most of the writing was found on seals and sealings which were probably used in trade and official & administrative work.
Harappan people had the knowledge of the measuring tools of length, mass, and time. They were the first in the world to develop a system of uniform weights and measures.
In a study carried out by P. N. Rao et al. in 2009, published in Science, computer scientists found that the Indus script's pattern is closer to that of spoken words, which supported the proposed hypothesis that it codes for an as-yet-unknown language.
According to the Chinese Civilization, some of the major techno-offerings from China include paper, early seismological detectors, toilet paper, matches, iron plough, the multi-tube seed drill, the suspension bridge, the wheelbarrow, the parachute, natural gas as fuel, the magnetic compass, the raised-relief map, the blast furnace, the propeller, the crossbow, the South Pointing Chariot, and gun powder. With the invent of paper they have given their first step towards developments of educational technology by further culturing different handmade products of paper as means of visual aids.
Ancient Egyptian language was at one point one of the longest surviving and used languages in the world. Their script was made up of pictures of the real things like birds, animals, different tools, etc. These pictures are popularly called hieroglyph. Their language was made up of above 500 hieroglyphs which are known as hieroglyphics. On the stone monuments or tombs which were discovered and rescued latter on provides the evidence of existence of many forms of artistic hieroglyphics in ancient Egypt.
Educational technology during Medieval and Modern Period
Paper and the pulp papermaking process which was developed in China during the early 2nd century AD, was carried to the Middle East and was spread to Mediterranean by the Muslim conquests. Evidences support that a paper mill was also established in Sicily in the 12th century. The discovery of spinning wheel increased the productivity of thread making process to a great extent and when Lynn White added the spinning wheel with increasing supply of rags, this led to the production of cheap paper, which was a prime factor in the development of printing technology.
The invention of the printing press was taken place in approximately 1450 AD, by Johannes Gutenburg, a German inventor. The invention of printing press was a prime developmental factor in the history of educational technology to convey the instruction as per the need of the complex and advanced-technology cultured society.
In the pre-industrial phases, while industry was simply the handwork at artisan level, the instructional processes were relied heavily upon simple things like the slate, the horn book, the blackboard, and chalk. It was limited to a single text book with a few illustrations. Educational technology was considered synonymous to simple aids like charts and pictures.
The year 1873 may be considered a landmark in the early history of technology of education or audio-visual education. An exhibition was held in Vienna at international level in which an American school won the admiration of the educators for the exhibition of maps, charts, textbooks and other equipments.
Maria Montessori (1870-1952), internationally renowned child educator and the originator of Montessori Method exerted a dynamic impact on educational technology through her development of graded materials designed to provide for the proper sequencing of subject matter for each individual learner. Modern educational technology suggests many extension of Montessori's idea of prepared child centered environment.
In1833, Charles Babbage's design of a general purpose computing device laid the foundation of the modern computer and in 1943, the first computing machine as per hi design was constructed by International Business Machines Corporation in USA. The Computer Assisted instruction (CAI) in which the computer functions essentially as a tutor as well as the Talking Type writer was developed by O.K. Moore in 1966. Since 1974, computers are interestingly used in education in schools, colleges and universities.
In the beginning of the 19th century, there were noteworthy changes in the field of education. British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC), right from its start of school broadcasts in 1920 had maintained rapid pace in making sound contribution to formal education. In the USA, by 1952, 20 states had the provision for educational broadcasting. Parallel to this time about 98% of the schools in United Kingdom were equipped with radios and there were regular daily programmes.
Sidney L. Pressey, a psychologist of Ohio state university developed a self-teaching machine called 'Drum Tutor' in 1920. Professor Skinner, however, in his famous article 'Science of Learning and art of Teaching' published in 1945 pleaded for the application of the knowledge derived from behavioral psychology to classroom procedures and suggested automated teaching devices as means of doing so.
Although the first practical use of Regular television broadcasts was in Germany in 1929 and in 1936 the Olympic Games in Berlin were broadcasted through television stations in Berlin, Open circuit television began to be used primarily for broadcasting programmes for entertainment in 1950. Since 1960, television is used for educational purposes.
In 1950, Brynmor, in England, used educational technological steps for the first time. It is to be cared that in 1960, as a result of industrial revolution in America and Russia, other countries also started progressing in the filed of educational technology. In this way, the beginning of educational technology took place in 1960 from America and Russia and now it has reached England, Europe and India.
During the time of around 1950s, new technocracy was turning it attraction to educations when there was a steep shortage of teachers in America and therefore an urgent need of educational technology was felt. Dr. Alvin C. Eurich and a little later his associate, Dr. Alexander J. Stoddard introduced mass production technology in America.
Team teaching had its origin in America in the mid of 1950's and was first started in the year 1955 at Harvard University as a part of internship plan.
In the year 1956, Benjamin Bloom from USA introduced the taxonomy of educational objectives through his publication, "The Taxonomy of Educational Objectives, The Classification of Educational Goals, Handbook I: Cognitive Domain".
In 1961, Micro teaching technique was first adopted by Dwight W. Allen and his co-workers at Stanford University in USA.
Electronics is the main technology being developed in the beginning of 21st century. Broadband Internet access became popular and occupied almost all the important offices and educational places and even in common places in developed countries with the advantage of connecting home computers with music libraries and mobile phones.
Today's classroom is more likely to be a technology lab, a room with rows of students using internet connected or Wi-Fi enabled laptops, palmtops, notepad, or perhaps students are attending a video conferencing or virtual classroom or may have been listening to a podcast or taking in a video lecture. Rapid technological changes in the field of educational have created new ways to teach and to learn. Technological changes also motivated the teachers to access a variety of information on a global scale via the Internet, to enhance their lessons as well as to make them competent professional in their area of concern. At the same time, students can utilize vast resources of the Internet to enrich their learning experience to cope up with changing trend of the society. Now a days students as well teachers are attending seminars, conferences, workshops at national and international level by using the multimedia techno-resources like PowerPoint and even they pursue a variety of important courses of their choice in distance mode via online learning ways. Online learning facility has opened infinite number of doors of opportunities for today's learner to make their life happier than ever before.
