Funeral Services for the late Mr. Clarence Edwards, Sr. held Tuesday, March 6, 2012, at 11:00 O'Clock AM, at the New Life Worship Center, 305 North Handley Avenue, Roanoke, Alabama. Bishop Lathonia J.Wright, Pastor will officiate. Burial will follow in the Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery, 653 County Road 667, Roanoke, Alabama. The family will reassemble for repast following the interment. MR. EDWARDS OBITUARY Clarence O. Edwards, was born in Newark, Essex County, New Jersey on October 6, 1951 to the parentage of the late Mr. and Mrs. Benjamin and Matilda (Williams) Edwards. He was preceded in death by his only sister, Margaret Washington. He graduated from Newark Tech High School in 1968. The next year, (November 3, 1969) he joined the United States Marine Corp. During his service in the Marine Corp, he worked as a Chef. He also became an accomplished boxer and undefeated in the Marine Corp Boxing League. He was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal, and received a Letter of Appreciation for his service during the Vietnam War.
